Strange TimesSafe to say the coming months are going to be difficult for all of us. The coronavirus pandemic is causing chaos throughout society and many businesses are being hit hard and the effects will be long term. Business are going under and employees are losing jobs to say nothing of the health implications of the virus itself. Like many photographers and others operating in the media and pr sectors I have seen work cancelled and I’m seriously concerned about where it will all end. As an individual there is little I can do other than dig deep and carry on doing what I do, so to that end I will continue to be available for work until the Government tells me differently or I succumb to the virus myself when I will self isolate. I don’t intend being reckless but being self employed there is a need to work, so whilst taking all sensible precautions that is what I intend to do. Our lives are going to change dramatically over the coming months but I’m hoping that this whole COVID-19 experience will allow everyone to reassess what is important in life. Maybe society can hit the reset button and return to a more measured sensible, slower and less frenetic lifestyle where our expectations are reduced and we accept and enjoy the more basic joys of life. I wish everyone the best of luck and hope we all come through this devastating episode in our lives relatively unscathed. Strange times. Be positive and stay safe everyone.
