A Photographers Life
The past week or so has been a little like this for me although thankfully I was able to accommodate all the jobs that came my way. Having a full diary is a situation most freelancers strive for including myself but it does bring with it some issues especially when the work includes three full days of conference photography which by it's very nature produce large numbers of images, all requiring post production editing and processing. My rule of thumb is that for every hour spent on a shoot a further hour can be spent on post production and factoring this into a busy week means you end up burning the candle at both ends. The days become long but satisfying none the less. This particular busy spell started with a weekend conference for a national teaching union which was booked up many months back. I also had a full day conference for a sustainable energy trade body booked up for a few days later which again had been on my diary since the beginning of the year. Add to this a shoot with the BBC Radio 2 gardener Terry Walton for a national house builder, three shoots for regular client, The Ford Motor Company, followed by a last minute job at Cardiff Airport to record the signing of a new contract with NATS to provide air traffic control at the airport for the next ten years and I was going to have a busy time of it. Anyway, busy spell survived and with a day or two to recover I'm now back to blogging and doing my own PR in the hope of attracting another busy spell soon.
A small selection of images shot during this busy week.
