Black and White Band Photography
The band play covers of tracks from the 60's, 70's and 80's including tracks by ZZ Top, Eric Clapton, Bruce Springsteen, Dr Feelgood, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Dave Edmunds to name a few. They are a group of extremely talented individuals who I'm now proud to call my friends. I have to say I'm in total awe of their musical ability and commitment to the cause of providing good live music to the public. Touring pubs, setting up and taking down their equipment and then performing to such a high standard takes a huge effort. They are not on their own, there are many bands doing exactly the same as them on Friday and Saturday nights throughout the country but for me and my wife Trish they are our band. In following them on their weekly performances I've taken many pictures to document their gigs and in a tribute to them and to say thank you for the many hours of entertainment they have given us I'm publishing a few black and whites here. These were taken last Saturday at The Three Tuns public house in Chepstow. They were shot on a Nikon Z6 camera with a 24-70 mm F4 S lens. There was little ambient light in the pub so a high ISO in excess of 5000 was needed, giving an exposure of 100th at f4 for most of the shots. The images were processed using Photoshop and Silver Efex Pro 2 to convert to b/w with a few tweaks to provide borders, vignetting and burned edges as well as the grain of Kodak Plus X film. Tres Hombres can be found at https://www.facebook.com/Tres-Hombres-197995853596579/ The band consists of Andy Berry, singer and guitarist, John Morris, lead guitar, Rob Bennett, bass guitar and Wayne Evans on drums.
