Chris Hoy training with the British Olympic Cycling Team at The Welsh National Velodrome in Newport at the beginning of August 2004 just days before heading to Athens to compete in the Olympics where he won his first first gold medal in the one kilometre time trial. In Bejing four years later he came away with three further golds. I had spent the day with the team on commission for a Scottish Daily newspaper and was concentrating on the Scottish cyclists in the team. The morning was spent shooting posed portraits and groups at The Celtic Manor Resort in Newport followed by some action from a training session at the velodrome during the afternoon.
