I've been taking advantage of the recent fine weather to shoot some panorama's of Cardiff Bay.
This one is made up of nine images shot on my Nikon D800. The RAW files were stitched together using Photoshop CC to produce a whopping 260 Meg image measuring some 70" x 14" at 300 ppi.
Photoshop has made a cracking job of stitching the images and the resolution and detail at 100% is amazing....... and Cardiff Bay looks stunning in the sunshine.
Shooting a view as a panorama gives a completely different perspective on the view, almost akin to how the eye would scan the view but creating an incredibly detailed image which would be impossible to shoot in a single frame even with a very wide angle lens.
Doing justice to the view in front of you can sometimes be difficult but a panorama could be the answer.
This one is a 19 picture stitched image of 330 Meg and measures 66" x 19" at 300 ppi.
This is made up of 18 frames stitched to produce a 440 Meg image measuring 109" x 15.5" at 300 ppi.
This is made up of 13 frames stitched to produce a 227 Meg image measuring 47" x 19" at 300 ppi.
This is made up of 11 frames stitched to produce a 238 Meg image measuring 48" x 19" at 300 ppi.
